Eigashima Shuzo, Akashi, Hyogo

Eigashima Sake Brewery is a long-established brewery that was founded in 1679 (Enpo 7) and began brewing sake. In 1888 (Meiji 21), the company was incorporated as a joint-stock company with a bottle-making factory. It expanded its business by selling high-quality products, including containers, such as the development of a 1.8-liter bottle exclusively for the sake “Nippondamashii”. It also produced whiskey known as Eigashima Distillery, one of the oldest whiskey distilleries in Japan, established in 1919.
