Hara Shuzo, Kashiwazaki, Niigata

Niigata Prefecture’s Hara Shuzo is a long-established sake brewer founded in 1814, and its main brands are Koshi no Homare and Gin no Tsubasa. Koshi no Homare is also famous for being the toast of the commemorative dinner for the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and China in 1972. All of the ingredients are rice grown in Niigata Prefecture, and there are also distinctive products such as snow chamber storage and Junmai Daiginjo.
