Kamisugi Brewery was founded in 1805 in Oshigamo, Hekikai-gun, Mikawa Province (present-day Oshigamo-cho, Toyota City). The 7th head of the company, Shobei Sugimoto, received the name “Kamisugi” from Ogami Shrine (Sakurai, Yamato Province), the god of brewing.
